Use this checker when a Notice of Enforcement, visit letter or fee breakdown shows bailiff fees and you want to understand the common non-High Court fee stages.
What the calculator covers#
It covers the standard non-High Court taking-control-of-goods stages in England and Wales: compliance, enforcement and sale or disposal.
It does not calculate High Court writ fees, court fees, storage, locksmiths, auctioneer costs, VAT issues or exceptional disbursements. If the paperwork says High Court Enforcement Officer, HCEO or writ of control, ask for a full written breakdown and get advice.
Why the date matters#
The 2026 regulations come into force on 1 May 2026. The calculator lets you choose whether the outgoing table or the new table applies because letters issued near the changeover may need checking carefully.
If the same enforcement fee appears more than once, ask the enforcement company to explain why. Multiple debts, multiple warrants and High Court cases can be more complicated than a single standard fee table. SourcesSources checked for this guide
